Rage Against the Machine–Killing in the Name

Can you imagine a major label band releasing a song like this as their debut single today?  A lot has changed in the almost (dear God has it already been) 25 years since Rage Against the Machine blessed the world with Killing in the Name.  The apex of modern protest songs, it’s a musically assaultive response to rising tensions and social oppression.  Despite its status as a rap-metal hybrid pioneer, its ever-relevant message and raw emotion prevent it from sounding dated.
